French Fries Recipe | Finger Chips


French fries or Finger chips are the deep-fried potatoes which are served hot. Most french fries are produced from frozen potatoes. These are generally eaten as part of lunch or dinner or by themselves as a snack. They are usually salted and, depending on the country, maybe served with ketchup, vinegar, mayonnaise, tomato sauce.

INGREDIENTS
  • Potatoes- 3 nos, medium-sized
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Oil for frying
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Firstly take the potatoes and then peel the skin.
  2. Rinse well in water.
  3. Cut the potatoes into even strips.
  4. Again rinse these potato fingers for a couple of times in water to remove the excess starch.
  5. Boil some water in a Kadai and also add some salt.
  6. Then transfer the potato fingers into it and cook it for 2-3 minutes in high flame.
  7. After 2 minutes strain the water and transfer the potatoes onto a plate. 
  8. Allow them to cool.
  9. Transfer the potatoes into a container having a lid and place them in the freezer for 2 hours.
  10. After 2 hours, heat oil in a pan.
  11. Then add potato fingers and fry them in medium flame till crisp and golden.
  12. Finally, drain over kitchen paper and sprinkle some salt over it and serve with tomato sauce.
