Banana Hearts
Today I am sharing a recipe using plantains. A simple heart-shaped sweet that can be served with hot tea. Enjoy the recipe!

INGREDIENTS
- Plantains/Bananas - 2 nos, ripen
- Grated Coconut- 3 tablespoons
- Ghee - 3 tablespoons
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Cardamoms- 3 nos.
- All-purpose flour- 1/2 cup
- Water - as required
- Salt - a pinch
- Food colour - yellow, few drops
- Oil for frying
- Firstly take the bananas and peel the skins off. Then cut it into small pieces.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of ghee in a pan.
- Roast the bananas and keep it aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of ghee in the same pan.
- Put the grated coconut and saute for 2 minutes.
- Then add sugar and cardamom to it.
- Combine the roasted bananas with it and saute well.
- Switch off the flame and allow to cool.
- For making the batter, take all-purpose flour in a bowl.
- Then add a little salt. Make a smooth batter by adding required water.
- Add a few drops of food colour to it and stir well. Keep it aside.
- Now take the roasted banana and make it into heart-shaped dumplings.
- Heat oil in a pan or Kadai.
- Then dip the hearts in the batter and put it into the hot oil.
- Shallow fry them on both sides.
- Finally, drain over kitchen paper and serve it.
BONUS TIPS
- If you are health conscious then you can use wheat flour/ atta instead of all-purpose flour.
- You can use turmeric powder instead of food colour. Or you can avoid this completely. It is only for colouring purpose.
